When we founded Euro Wafel, our dream was to reimagine what a café could be—a late-night, family-friendly gathering space in a safe, non-alcoholic environment. Our vision centered on offering authentic, scratch-made Liege wafels, inspired by the rich culinary heritage of Liege, Belgium, where the oldest wafels in the world originated. To complement this, we crafted the most delicious, made-from-scratch crepes and curated a high-quality coffee and drink menu to elevate the daily rituals of our community. Humble Beginnings: A Wafel Dream Takes Shape In 2014, we launched our first wafel concept at local flea markets and street fairs, including the iconic Wade Oval and Cleveland Flea. From a modest table, we served freshly made wafels to hundreds of eager customers, often selling out in no time. It was clear—we had struck a chord. Encouraged by this enthusiastic response, we moved into the legendary Blue Fig Hookah Bar on Case Western Reserve University's campus. There, we shared our love of wafels with students and locals late into the night, creating cherished memories along the way. A Growing Passion for Coffee and Community Over the years, our passion for people and wafels grew into something even greater—a legendary specialty coffee menu and a famous drink lineup that our customers can’t stop raving about. Among these, our chai has become a standout favorite. Known as “Karak,” this traditional Emirati dessert chai is based on a treasured family recipe passed down from our mother. It has earned its place as a must-try legend—be sure to ask for a free sip when you visit!
